In the photo transfer process, images are transferred with solvent to an alternate substrate. Deterioration and disintegration are, by nature, part of this process. In “Trace of Memory”, the out of focus images of old family portraits recall the workings of our memory. As the images fade in and out, we are reminded of the passage of time. “Feet” acknowledges the strength of the female body, which is firmly rooted in the ground. By isolating one part of the body, exaggerating its scale and hanging it at eye level, one is confronted with both its graphic and surprisingly intimate quality.
